CSU Athletics and UCHealth Partner to Bring Mamava Suite to Moby Arena

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State Athletics and longtime healthcare partner UCHealth are excited to announce the addition of a Mamava lactation suite to Moby Arena this fall.
Parents seeking a comfortable, private space to nurse or pump on game day will now have access to the suite, which was installed as part of Colorado State's effort to provide a clean, secure, and well-lit area for parents.
"Being a mom on the go has so many challenges, so I think it's amazing that UCHealth is partnering with CSU to offer nursing moms a place to comfortably feed their babies," CSU Volleyball Head Coach Emily Kohan said. "Moms are the most amazing people in the entire world, and we want to remove any barriers to have more families and moms in the stands for all events. As a mom of two young daughters, I applaud everyone who helped make this possible."
Powered by the leading lactation support company Mamava, this large, private nursing suite offers high-tech features parents seek for convenience and comfort. From a keyless entry option and trackable vacancy alerts to adjustable lights and fans, an available multiuser hospital-grade Medela pump, and plenty of outlets and USB ports, parents can simply relax and focus on nursing or pumping.
Monica Faherty, a lactation consultant at UCHealth Family Medicine Center, said the Mamava suite will allow breastfeeding parents the opportunity to pump, breastfeed, bottle feed, and provide care to their babies in the privacy they deserve. "Too often, parents are doing these activities in public bathrooms or in their cars, which is not ideal. The Mamava is comfortable, quiet, and conducive to bonding for parent and child."
"As a mom, I have missed events due to the timing and logistics of nursing and pumping schedules," Executive Director of Student-Athlete Support Service Becky Orr said. "I'm excited to see there will be dedicated space that is clean, safe, and private for all new moms' needs."
"As a new mom myself. I know there are many new situations to navigate," CSU Volleyball Assistant Coach Sonja Anderson said. "Mom- life is full of lots of multi-tasking and dealing with unexpected events. Having a space dedicated for moms, so they can tackle that part of life empowers us all."
