Seven Rams Earn All-Conference Honors

Johnson, Matheson, White Repeat Their Awards
FORT COLLINS, Colo.  – Seven swimmers earned 10 All-Mountain West honors over the course of the conference championships last week in Houston, with three of them repeat performers.

The league honors the top eight individuals in events, along with the top three relays. Erin Dawson, Amanda Hoffman, Anika Johnson, Lucy Matheson, Sarah Mundy, Lexie Trietley and Maya White all had top-eight finishes, with Matheson, Trietley and White doing so in multiple events.

Johnson, Matheson and White are all repeats for the distinction.

Johnson, a junior, has earned the classification all three seasons in the 200-yard freestyle, placing fifth this year. Matheson was all-conference in both the 100 and 200 butterfly, placing sixth and fifth, respectively. Her time in the 200 fly ranks fourth all time. White repeated in the 1,650 freestyle, placing second by lowering her second-fastest time in program history, additionally earning the nod in the 500 free by placing third, again with the third-best time in school history.

Hoffman set the school record in the preliminaries of the 200 fly at 1:57.07, coming back to place third in the race in the finals. Mundy reached the 100 free finals, placing eighth.

Erin Dawson placed third in the 400 IM with a 4:17.81, the third-best time in school history. Freshman Lexie Trietley was all-conference in both the 50 and 100 frees, placing sixth and third, respectively. Her 22.76 in the 50 ranks third at the school, as does her 49.79 in the 100.
