Diver finishes 39th at NCAA Zone E
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZ.  – On the final day of her sophomore campaign, Maggie Di Scipio bookended her best dives during the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships on the 3-meter board.
Â
Di Scipio, an All-Mountain West performer at her first zones competition, placed 39th on the 3-meter board on Tuesday at the event held at Northern Arizona. Her opening dive was her best, scoring a 45.60. Her final attempt scored a 45.00, leaving her with a 221.55. There were 50 competitors in the event.
Â
This was a breakout season for Di Scipio, who placed at conference on all three boards, hit her first zones marks and broke into the top 10 at No. 6 on all three. CSU diving coach Chris Bergere feels her growth as a competitor has just begun, and reaching the meet will only spur her to achieve more.
Â
"I think she learned she has to keep getting stronger physically and also hone her skill training to perform at the next level," Bergere said. "she has grown to much as a diver and competitor this season. I couldn't be more pleased with her maturity and growth as an athlete. There is always the next level. Maggie will keep challenging herself and move the chains down the field."
