Ram recognized after breaking conference record.

FORT COLLINS – For the second time this season, Colorado State track and field athlete Cole Nordman was named the Mountain West Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Nordman put together a record-breaking performance at the Colorado Classic, taking down the Colorado State and Mountain West records in the 60-meter hurdles. The senior ran a 7.71 in the race, improving his career-high by 0.02 seconds. The previous CSU record was 7.72, set by Jeremy Kendall in 1998.

The Scottsdale, Ariz., native also posted a career-best in the 60m dash on Saturday, running a 6.68 to take sole possession of the fourth-best time in program history.

Nordman has now claimed two Colorado State records this season after breaking the 55m dash mark at the Wyoming Power Meet in December with a time of 7.18 seconds. This also marks the second Mountain West weekly award for Nordman, who earned the season's first honor on Dec. 10.

The Rams are back in action this week at the UCCS Invite in Colorado Springs. The one-day event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25.
