Only Mountain West freshman on national list
FORT COLLINS — Colorado State freshman defender Piper Carlson has been ranked No. 59 nationally on TopDrawerSoccer's Midseason Freshman Top 100 list, recognizing the top first-year players across Division I women's soccer.
Carlson, a Lakewood, Colorado, native, has started in all 13 matches for the Rams this fall. Carlson tallied a goal in the 3-0 win at Stetson while continuously anchoring a defensive unit that has allowed one goal or fewer in 11 of 13 matches and posted four shutouts. She's also a two-time Mountain West Freshman of the Week honoree (Aug. 25, Oct. 6), only of the two freshmen in the league to earn the award twice this season.
TopDrawerSoccer updates its national rankings weekly, highlighting the top performers by position and conference. Carlson is the only Mountain West freshman included in this week's Top 100.
