Cross Country Sets Sights on Utah for Mountain Regionals

Colorado State looks to compete with top regional competition
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State cross country makes its way to Taylorsville, Utah, for the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships. The event takes place this Friday, with the men running a longer race in a 10K and the women running their standard 6K.Â

MEET NOTESÂ
- Tatum Berg, Kenya Dennee and Mari Konold have all took their turn leading the women's side across the line this season. Â Last time out at the Mountain West Championships, Dennee (20:50.3) edged out Berg (20:50.4)Â for the top spot in a tight finish. Konold came in third among the Rams just two seconds behind.Â
- Parker Westermann continues to impress in his debut campaign, setting a personal best at the MW Championships and leading the men's side across the line. The freshman has improved upon his top mark nearly every week and was rewarded with a MW Men's Freshman of the Week earlier this season.Â
- Konold has been an emerging force for the Rams, after her breakout performance at the Colorado Springs XC Open. She has improved upon her career best time in three straight events, recording a sub-21 in her last two outings. - Ryan Schumacher showed promise in his Colorado State debut two weeks ago, finishing 46th overall and ranking as the third best Ram just behind Westermann and Chris Henry. Â
