Turner Claims Pair of MW Honors

Freshman recognized after 400m performance last weekend.
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State's Travis Turner has been named the Mountain West Men's Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week after his performance at the Jack Christiansen Invitational this past weekend.

Turner – who took third place in the 400 meter at the MW Indoor Championships – was sensational in his first collegiate outdoor meet. The freshman won the 400 with a blistering time of 46.76, which is the third-best time among MW athletes this year and first among conference freshmen. It also stands as the fifth-best time in school history.

These are the first weekly awards for the indoor all-conference performer, and the first of the outdoor season for Colorado State. The Rams are back in action this weekend with four meets on tap from April 4-5.
