Program Continues Run of Academic Honors

CSCAA recognizes team, trio of individuals
FORT COLLINS  – In compiling a 3.62 GPA for the spring semester, Colorado State's women's swimming and diving program extended its streak to 28 consecutive semesters of earning the distinction of being a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America team, with a trio Rams earning individual praise.

Diver Maggie Di Scipio and swimmers Maya White and Tess Whineray were all named second-team Academic All-America through their competitive performance and academic accolades. It is the second consecutive season the trio has earned the honor.

Individual honors must be achieved by carrying at least a 3.50 GPA and by hitting an NCAA 'B' cut or qualifying for the NCAA Zones in diving. Di Scipio qualified for Zones for the second consecutive year, while White hit her cut in the 1,650-yard freestyle, Whineray in both the 100 and 200Â backstroke. Teams must carry at least a 3.0 GPA, which the program historically does. The team's cumulative GPA has exceeded 3.40 for the past 12 semesters.
