Ram women extend winning streak at Wyoming invite to seven in a row

CHEYENNE, WYO. - Colorado State cross country claimed their first victory of the season with the women's program taking the top spot at the Wyoming Invite. The men finished third behind a strong showing from their youth. The Rams had 16 competitors take stage, with nine for the women's side and seven for the men.

  • On the women's side, it was a team effort that paved the way to the gold. Allison Pippert (18:00.49) and freshman Tatum Berg (18:03.25) led the way for the Rams finishing second and third, respectively. The two underclassmen were side by side for most of the affair.
  • The women's win today marks the seventh straight at the Wyoming Invite. The Rams won by seventeen points, spurred on by their five top ten finishers.
  • Shea Volkmer was next, running a 5k personal best of 18:29.71 to finish sixth place. Kensey May finished eighth with teammate Annie Macabobby just behind in tenth, rounding out the top five finishers for the women's team.
  • Owen Casselman led the way for the men in his first ever 5k for the Green and Gold. The sophomore finished 17th, posting an impressive 15:57.76. Freshman Nic Spencer also impressed, finishing just shy of a sub-16-minute time (16:00.9) to place 19th.
