Woodard’s Team Continues Academic Streak

Four Rams earn CSCAA Academic All-America honors
FORT COLLINS – Continuing an impressive streak, Colorado State's women's swimming and diving program earned Spring Scholar All-American status from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America this week, marking the 30th consecutive semester Christopher Woodard's program has hit the mark.
In addition, four Rams were named Scholar All-Americans – Maggie Di Scipio, Riley Lee, Sydney Ovesen and Tess Whineray.
Teams are required to reach the 3.00 GPA threshold to earn the distinction, with Colorado State's 3.71 easily clearing the barrier and representing a slight improvement from the Fall semester (3.67). The individual achievement requires a bit more from the classroom, with a 3.50 being the minimum GPA to qualify. Whinery was named first team by qualifying for the NCAA Championships this past March, the first Ram to do so since 2013. Di Scipio, Lee and Ovesen – all divers – were named second team for their qualification to the NCAA Diving Zones.
This is the third time Di Scipio has earned second-team honors. Whineray was second-team the two seasons prior.
