2008 (Junior): During the outdoor season, Kip scored with a third-place finish (16:05.01) in the 5,000 meters at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 25) and with a fifth-place finish (9:13.25) in the 3,000 meters at the Front Range Championships (May 3).
2007 (Sophomore): During the outdoor season, Kip set a personal best in the 1,500 meters (4:08.23) at the Rob Upton Invitational (March 24).
2006 (Freshman): Kip attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo.
High School: Kip lettered in both cross country and track while attending Poudre High School in Fort Collins, Colo., where he was named captain of both teams.
Personal: Kip was born May 6, 1986, to Kevin and Mary Taylor. He has an older sister, Ivy, and is majoring in marketing management.
