2008 (Sophomore): Shea posted a personal best in the 800 meters (2:02.19) at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 25)

2007 (Freshman): Shea attended the University of Tennessee.

High School: Shea lettered in four sports while attending Battle Mountain High School in Vail, Colo. He was named all-league in track three times and was a three-time MVP in track and cross country. He was a three-time Western Slope Conference champion in cross country and track. He holds the school record in the 4x800 meters (7:58).

Personal: Shea was born July 25, 1987, to Pat and Becki Phelan. He has a sister, Tracey. His father was a wrestler at the University of Northern Colorado. He is majoring in business.
