Parker Edens, a familiar name for Rams fans, joined the staff as assistant coach for the men’s golf program. Edens, a 2014 CSU graduate, played under head coach Newton.
Edens previous collegiate experience includes a year and a half at the University of Tulsa as the assistant women’s golf coach. During his time in Tulsa, Edens worked under former CSU women’s head coach Annie Young, and helped freshman Lorena Tseng earn All-American Athletic Conference honors and qualify as an individual for the NCAA Norman Regional.
After playing high school golf locally at Greeley Central, Edens was a student-athlete on the men's team at Colorado State (2012-14) for his final two years after transferring from South Dakota State.
During his collegiate career, Edens had 13 top-20 finishes and placed among the top-10 four times. In 2013-14, Edens completed his senior season for the Rams second on the team with a 73.6 stroke average and had five tournament finishes among the top-20. He was the team leader as a junior with a 72.5 stroke average, while finishing among the top-20 in six tournaments.
Edens played three seasons professionally, primarily on The Dakotas and the Web.com Tours, where he won a combined six professional tournaments. He also served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Colorado State men's golf team at the 2016 Mountain West Conference Championship.
He and his wife, Victoria, have two boys, Brayden and Keaton.
