Seth O'Dea
Seth O’Dea was hired Aug. 4, 2025 to be the head diving coach at Colorado State.

For O’Dea, it is his first full-time college post, though he has served in an interim and assistant’s role in the past. He joins the Rams after three successful seasons with the Montgomery Dive Club – the largest junior program in the nation – where he has worked with divers who have captured 10 Junior National Championships.

His Montgomery team placed second overall at Junior Nationals in 2023, working to develop performers who then proceeded to earn college opportunities across all levels. While working with Junior National divers for Montgomery, he also served as an assistant coach with the Alexandria Dive Club, helping divers at all levels.

He served as a graduate assistant dive coach at his alma mater, South Dakota, after finishing his career with the Coyotes as the school completed a search to fill the open dive coach position. In the past three seasons, he has assisted with the collegiate programs at George Washington and Navy.

As a collegian, O’Dea started his career at UNC-Wilmington, where he was an All-CAA performer after placing second on the 3-meter springboard and was the highest scoring freshman diver at the CAA Championship meet. He continued his success at South Dakota, performing well for the 2021 team which won the Summit Leage title for the first time in school history, placing second on the 3-meter and third on the 1-meter. A two-time team captain, he was voted the hardest working male teammate for the 2020-21 season, earning academic honors during his time as a Coyote.

He earned both his bachelor’s and MBA in management while at South Dakota, graduating in 2022.
