Jackson Haen joined the Colorado State performance nutrition staff in January 2026 after roles at Stanford University, the Memorial Hermann Rockets Sports Medicine Institute and the University of Wyoming.

A former Division I football player at Wyoming, he discovered his passion for sports nutrition after an early end to his career. Originally studying petroleum engineering, he pivoted career paths after completing his first bachelor’s and returned to Wyoming’s football team as a nutrition assistant while completing a second bachelor's in nutrition & dietetics at Northern Colorado.

Following his clinical rotations, Jackson was selected as the sole dietitian for the 5th Cohort of the Memorial Hermann Rockets Sports Medicine Institute Sports Nutrition Residency. During his time in Houston, he served as the lead dietitian for the Houston Christian football, baseball and women’s basketball teams, oversaw high school nutrition programing at two Texas 6A high schools, and worked one-on-one with NFL athletes at MH Athlete Training & Health facility among other responsibilities including completion of the residency’s sports nutrition didactic program.

Most recently, he served as assistant director of sports nutrition & medical nutrition therapy at Stanford, where he worked primarily with football while serving as the nutrition lead for five other Olympic sports. At Stanford he played a significant role in the department’s integrated medical-performance model, coordinating with team physicians, athletic trainers, and strength coaches to build nutrition strategies supporting player availability and long-term development including: pre/post operative nutrition protocols, athlete biomarker assessment, weight/hydration tracking, body composition assessment and long term physical development strategies.

Jackson also guest lectures yearly for Texas A&M’s masters in sport nutrition course, has guest lectured at Houston and Houston Christian, was a guest speaker for a Tactical Operational Medical Support Course, and presented at the Houston Sports Medicine update (a local conference) on the role of omega 3s in sport.

He is a registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength & Conditioning Association
