Jackson Mitchell was hired as the assistant special teams coach and assistant outside linebackers coach in December of 2025, coming to Fort Collins after spending 2025 on the Connecticut staff.
 
Mitchell was a defensive assistant with the Huskies, working  with linebackers in his first season of coaching at the end of his professional career. Mitchell played four years with the Huskies as a linebacker, registering nearly 400 career tackles and being named a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award in 2022.
