Matt Brumley joined Colorado State Athletics as an assistant director of strategic communications and brand enhancement in August 2024. Brumley is the primary contact for the Rams’ women’s basketball and track & field/cross country teams, and is the secondary contact for the Rams football team.

Athletics Communications Assistant (July 2023-June 2024)
  • Primary contact for the Ducks’ women’s lacrosse, men’s golf and acrobatics & tumbling programs. Tertiary contact for UO's nationally-ranked football team.
  • Managed the social media platforms for each of his primary programs, including the A&T Instagram which grew from 20k followers to 95k in his one-year tenure.
  • Managed the promotional efforts of nearly 100 student-athletes and coaches, including first-year lacrosse head coach and Oregon alumna Jessica Drummond.
Boise State Broncos
Athletic Media Relations Graduate Assistant (June 2021-June 2023)
  • Primary contact for the women’s soccer, gymnastics, women’s tennis and men’s golf. Served as the secondary contact for the Bronco men’s basketball team that made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
  • Managed all promotional efforts for his primary programs, including social media platforms and website content.
  • The primary recap-writer for the men’s basketball team, while also contributing to game notes and social media platforms. Produced the 2023 NCAA Tournament guide.
Athletic Media Relations Student Volunteer (January 2018-May 2021)
  • Spent seven semesters as an unpaid volunteer with the Broncos’ athletic media relations department.
  • Primary contact for women’s tennis and the social media manager for the gymnastics program.
  • Worked additional events including the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournaments (2018 Boise, 2019 San Jose), the 2020 Mountain West Basketball Tournament and the Idaho Potato Bowl (2019, 2021, 2022)

  • A native of Rupert, Idaho.
  • Graduated from Minico High School in 2017.
  • Graduated from Boise State University with a bachelors in media arts (2021) and a masters in athletic leadership (2023).
