Matt Klein serves Colorado State as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations as well as the department's Chief Financial Officer, a post he was promoted to in August 2022.

Klein spent five years as the Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations in (Dec. 2017-Aug. 2022), after serving four years as assistant A.D. at Colorado State.

Klein, a graduate of CSU, returned to his alma mater in 2013 after spending one year at Montana State as associate A.D. of business operations. Prior to that he served as director of operations for CSU's women’s basketball program from 2007-10 and assistant business manager from 2010-12.

A native of Swink, Colo., Klein graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colorado State University in 2007 as the top graduating senior in the College of Business. While a student, Klein gained experience in sports business operations through work with Colorado State Athletics' operations department, Kroenke Sports Enterprises and Nelligan Sports Marketing. He and his wife Heather have three children; daughter, Graicelyn, and sons, Cooper and Hank.
