Volleyball (1984 to 1987)
Angie Knox-Duryea played volleyball for coach Rich Feller, setting several school records in a sport which has dominated at CSU since her playing days. An outstanding athlete from Englewood, Colo., where she played volleyball, basketball and softball, Knox-Duryea remains one of the greatest volleyball players in CSU history. Knox-Duryea was a two-time All-High Country Athletic Conference player and helped lead the Rams to the 1984 and 1985 HCAC championships. Knox-Duryea helds numerous school records in kills, attack and digs at the end of her career. In 1987 she was named as a second-team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and also played in four NCAA tournaments with CSU.
Following graduation, Knox-Duryea went on the play in the Yugo East-West all-star event on the first college all-star team. She played professionally with the Chicago Breeze of Major League Volleyball and had a step-sister, Michelle Knox, play for the Rams from 2000 to 2002. Angie Knox-Duryea went into business and remains a dedicated mom to her three children.
