Men's Golf Opens Play in The Nelson Today

Today the men?s golf team begins play in their final tournament of the fall season, The Nelson. The tournament will be held in Palo Alto, Calif., and is being hosted by Stanford. The event will be played on the par 71, 6,835 yard Stanford Golf Course.The tournament will run for three days with 18 holes being played each day.

Colorado State finished fourth in the same tournament last year and were led by Martin Laird?s fifth place finish. Fifteen teams will participate in the tournament this year, including last year?s champion Duke. Colorado State is the only Mountain West team participating.

The team is coming off its second straight victory of the year and their third of the fall season. The team is also ranked 24th nationally according to Golfweek.

After The Nelson the team will return to competition for the spring season on February 18th , when they play in the John Burns Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii. Complete results will be available at the conclusion of play each day at csurams.com
