Rams in Fifth After Day One of Las Vegas Showdown

Henderson, Nev. - The Colorado State women?s golf team opened play in their final tournament of the fall season today, the Las Vegas Founders Women?s Collegiate Showdown, in Henderson, Nev.
The team played well and carded an opening round score of 300, putting them alone in fifth. The Rams are 12 strokes behind last year?s champion and current leader New Mexico who recorded a score of 288.
Junior Trisha Quick continues to prove why she is one of the best in the nation and sits atop the leader board after todays round. Quick finished the day with a four under par 68, one stroke ahead of second place Katrina Leckovic of New Mexico. Quick?s 68 ties the record for the lowest single round score in tournament history.
The team?s next best performer was Stephanie Linnell who is currently tied for 28th after a four over 76. Lynette Duran is right behind Linnell, shooting a 77 in todays round, tying her for 33rd overall. Kristen Campos and Dawna Virdell round out the field for the Rams; both are tied for 45th after rounds of 79.
Play resumes tomorrow at 8 a.m. with the second round of 18, and will conclude on Wednesday with the final round. Complete results will be available at the conclusion of play each day at csurams.com
