Multi-Events Begin

Colorado State senior Matt Webber is in 10th place after the first day of the decathlon at the 2003 Mountian West Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship at the University of New Mexico, while junior Zuzana Krajciova is in seventh in the heptathlon.
Webber established a career-high in the high jump after clearing 6-4 to tie for fourth place in the fourth event of the day. He also placed third in the shot put with a toss of 41-0.25. In the other three events, the 100 meters (11.58), long jump (19-4.25) and 400 meters (54.24), Webber was 11th. His first day total sits at 3,308 points.
Krajciova is in seventh place after placing sixth in both the 100 meter hurdles (15.38) and shot put (29-11.5), eighth in the 200 meters (25.49) and 11th in the high jump (4-7). Her total is 2,619 points after the first day.
The multi-events conclude tomorrow with the main portion of the championship taking place on Friday and Saturday.
