Spring 2003 Women?s Track and Field Academic All-Conference

When it comes to academics, the women?s track and field team ran past all the other women?s teams on campus. An amazing 21 runners received the Academic All-Conference award. This award is given to athletes who earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher and participate in half of all events.
Christine Ahn is a senior majoring in psychology and has a perfect 4.0 GPA. Megan Casey is a freshman majoring in psychology and with a GPA of 3.222. Crystal Clark is a junior majoring in psychology and notched a GPA of 3.082. Jill Ferguson is a junior majoring in health and exercise science and tallied a 3.301 GPA. Becky Hammitt is a sophomore majoring in health and exercise science with a GPA of 3.545. Jenny Higgason is a freshman majoring in health and exercise science and has a 3.034 GPA. Haley Hunt is a freshman majoring in applied human science open option with a flawless GPA of 4.0. Danielle Korb is a freshman majoring in biological science and earned a 3.606 GPA. Zuzana Krajciova is a sophomore majoring in liberal arts and has a GPA of 3.375. Meg Larson graduated with a degree in soil and crop science with a 3.757 GPA. Kim Leal graduated with a major in English and earned a GPA of 3.064. Sean McMurry also just graduated, doing so with a major in anthropology and a 3.992 GPA. Ashley Nicholson is a freshman majoring in life science open option and has a GPA of 3.234. Keela Niemeyer is a sophomore majoring in human development and family studies and recorded a GPA of 3.483. Mary Ridder graduated with a degree in environmental health and a 3.303 GPA. Anya Sawyer graduated with a health and exercise science major and sported a GPA of 3.311. Loree Smith is a junior majoring in English and has a 3.505 GPA. Sara Taylor is a sophomore majoring in management with a GPA of 3.341. Kim Watson graduated with a major in health and exercise science and a 3.590 GPA. Sara Werner is a freshman majoring in biological science and earned a GPA of 3.733. Katie Yemm is a senior majoring in speech communications with a GPA of 3.260.
Ten student-athletes also received the Scholar-Athlete award. This award is given to individuals who earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participate in at least one event.
Danielle Buzzell is a sophomore majoring in equine science with a GPA of 3.692. Ahn, Hammitt, Hunt, Korb, Larson, McMurry, Smith, Watson and Werner also received the award.
