Women?s Golf Finishes 16th in New Mexico

Albuquerque, N.M. ? The Colorado State women?s golf team wrapped up play in the Dick Maguire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. today. The team shot a third round score of 331 to give them a three-round total score of 960. This left them in 16th overall. The team title went to host school New Mexico. The Lobos finished the tournament with a score of 871 (-5). Oklahoma State finished in second with a score of 887.

The Rams were led by Margaret Garehime. The sophomore fired a final round score of 83, bringing her overall total to 235, which was good enough to finish in a tie for 42nd. The team?s next best finisher was Dawna Virdell, she finished the tournament in a tie for 47th after carding an 81 in today?s final round.

Trisha Quick was the Rams third best finisher with a three-round total score of 248. Lynette Duran and Kylee King rounded out the field for Colorado State they finished tied for 85th and alone in 90th, respectively.

Kailin Downs of New Mexico took home the individual title with a total score of 212. Karin Sjodin of Oklahoma State finished in second at 215.

The Rams will be in action again on October 6, when they take part in the Heather Farr Invitational tournament hosted by Colorado.
