Men?s Basketball Player Matt Nelson Sidelined Indefinitely

Fort Collins, Colo. ? Colorado State University men?s basketball coach Dale Layer said today that center Matt Nelson will be sidelined indefinintely due to a right knee sprain suffered during a game Monday night at Montana State University.

?This is an unfortunate injury for Matt Nelson and for our team. We?re optimistic that he?ll be able to return as quickly as possible once the injury has healed,? said Layer.

Nelson is a 7-foot, 255-pound junior center from Chicago, Ill., who is the team?s leading scorer, averaging 14.9 points per game. Nelson was injured during the first half of Monday night?s game in Bozeman, Mont.

The Rams open Mountain West Conference play Monday night by playing host to Air Force at 7 p.m. in Moby Arena.
