Ram Golf Finishes 13th at The Nelson

Colorado State shot a 299 in the third and final round of The Nelson on Sunday to finish the three-day event with a 48-over 876 tied for 13th for the tournament.
CSU?s Kevin McAlpine led all Ram golfers with a 10-over-par 217 after a three-over 72 on Sunday. McAlpine?s score was good for a tie for 42nd individually in the tournament.
John Hayes turned in a 74 Sunday for a 218 tournament while Derrick Whiting had a three-round score of 219. Hayes and Whiting finished in 50th and 55th place in the tournament, respectively.
Rounding out the Ram scoring was Nate Pettitt with a 226 and Aaron Weston with a 231.
New Mexico claimed the team title with a two-over 830 for the tournament while Lobo Spencer Levin and Georgia State?s Steve Tiley shared individual honors, each with nine-under 198s.
The Rams will remain in California to compete in the Barona Collegiate Cup in Lakeside, Calif. The two-day, three-round tournament is hosted by San Diego State.
