Melissa Dennett Earns MWC Player of the Week Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ?? Colorado State forward Melissa Dennett was named Mountain West Conference Women?s Basketball Player of the Week, Nov. 22. It is the junior?s second career honor.

Dennett, a 6-foot-2 post player from Salt Lake City, Utah, led the Rams to a season-opening 72-64 victory over San Francisco, Nov. 19. She posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. She shot 6-for-9 overall from the field, including 3-of-5 in the second half, when the rest of the team combined for a 4-of-18 shooting performance. Dennett was also 3-for-3 at the charity stripe. The victory was Colorado State?s third straight win over the Dons. Colorado State, now 1-0 on the season, travels to South Bend, Ind., to play No. 11 Notre Dame tonight.
