Rams Finish Eighth at Anteater Invitational...
The Colorado State women?s golf team took part in their second tournament of the spring season March 15-16 at the Anteater Invitational. The team performed well and finished eighth overall with a three-round total of 945. The Rams opened with a score of 311, their lowest round this spring. In the second round the team posted a score of 314, tying them for ninth after day one. In the final round the team carded a total of 320, moving them up one spot into eighth overall. The University of San Francisco took top honors in the tournament. The 49ers finished with a score of 883, 19-over par, defeating second place BYU by 29 strokes.

Linnell Leads the Way....
Stephanie Linnell was the team?s top finisher in the Anteater Invitational. Linnell finished tied for 21st individually, just barely missing her first top 20 finish of the year. She carded scores of 78, 74, and 80, respectively, to finish with a total score of 232. Her second round score of 74 is her second lowest of the year and her 21st place finish is her best finish of the year. Her previous best was a tie for 24th in the Aztec Fall Golf Classic. Linnell?s per round average of 77 is currently the lowest on the team.

Team Steps Up...
Senior Dawna Virdell continued to shine in the Anteater Invitational. She carded rounds of 78, 74, and 80, respectively. This put her in a tie for 45th with a three-round total of 239. Lynette Duran was the team?s next best finisher. Duran wrapped up the tournament in a tie for 52nd after carding rounds of 84, 77, and 81, respectively. Kristen Campos, who was competing in her second tournament of the year also finished with a three-round total of 242. Campos posted scores of 77, 80, and 85. Rounding out the field for the Rams was Trisha Quick. She finished just one stroke behind of Campos and Duran at 243 after rounds of 79, 84, and 80, respectively. She finished tied for 52nd overall.

Team Stats...
As a team, the Rams have a per round average of 307 this year. This ranks them 65th in the nation and 20th in the West District according to the March 7th rankings on Golfweek..

Mountain View Collegiate Preview...
The team will return to action on March 27th when they take part in the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz. The tournament will run for two days and will be played on the par-72 Mountain View golf course. The team finished ninth in the same tournament last year with a total score of 627.
