Women?s Golf Ties for Second in Tucson

Tucson, Ariz. ? The Colorado State women?s golf team used a third round score of 302 today to move up five spots to a tie for second place at the Mountain View Collegiate. The team finished with a 54-hole total of 902. The second place finish is the second of the year and the team?s best finish this spring.
Denver came away with the team title, finishing with a score of 894.
Kristen Campos was the Rams top finisher in the event. Campos carded a 75 to finish tied for fifth, her best finish of the year. Dawna Virdell was the Rams next best finisher. Virdell used a final round 73 to jump up 29 spots from yesterday and finish tied for 12th with a three-round total of 225.
Trisha Quick continued her consistent play today and finished with a total score of 227, following her round of 78. She finished tied for 25th.
Lynette Duran and Margaret Garehime (individual) tied for 31st just three strokes back of Quick at 230. Stephanie Linnell finished the tournament with a total of 243.
Kim Welch of Washington State came away with medallist honors with a total score of 214.
The Rams will return to play on April 5 when they begin play in the BYU Dixie Classic.
