Thomas Named Third Team Academic All-American

Colorado State sophomore center Lindsay Thomas was today named to the 2004 Academic All-America Women?s Basketball Third Team.

Thomas was one of fourteen student-athletes named to the Academic All-American Team, which includes schools from Colorado, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Massachusetts, Ohio, Maryland, Washington, North Carolina, Texas, and Oklahoma. Thomas is an English and Spanish double major with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average and is academically a senior in class standing.

Joining Thomas on the Third Team are Yoneko Allen from Western Carolina, Jamie Carey from Texas, Caton Hill from Oklahoma, and Lindsay Shearer from Kent State.

Thomas leads the Rams in rebounding, averaging 7.5 per game and is third on the team with 12.3 points per game. She also leads the Mountain West Conference, shooting .534 from the field and recorded the fourth double-double of her career in the Rams? last game at BYU on Saturday.

The fifteen student-athletes to receive All-American honors were voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Colorado State will be in action tonight against Air Force in Colorado Springs. Tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
