Women's Basketball Wins Fifth Straight

The Colorado State women?s basketball team won its fifth consecutive game tonight with the 75-58 victory over Air Force to improve to 17-9 on the season and 8-5 in Mountain West Conference play. The Falcons fall to 3-23 on the year and 0-13 in league action.
The Rams scored the first 10 points of the game and never looked back. Sophomore guard Vanessa Espinoza led the team with 18 points, while sophomore forward Melissa Dennett scored 15, freshman forward Kylee O?Dwyer tied her career-high with 13 points and sophomore center Lindsay Thomas chipped in 11. Freshman center Marilyn Moulton led the team with a career-high nine rebounds and senior guard Jasai Ferrucho notched her third double figure assist game of the year with 11. All nine players who played saw at least 11 minutes of action and scored at least two points in the contest. They all also notched at least two rebounds in the game.
Air Force was led by Andrea Taylor with 12 points and Jennifer Roesch chipped in 10 off the bench. Senior forward Shawna Neff, Gwen Grove and Roesch all had four rebounds and Neff led the team with four assists.
The Rams led by as many as 21 points in the second half on three different occasions and never trailed in the contest.
Colorado State closes out its regular season on Saturday against New Mexico in The Pit. Tip is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The Rams will then head to the Mountain West Conference Tournament where they will be the four-seed and play on Wed. in the 2:30 contest against the five-seed which is still to be determined.
