With the conference tournament just around the corner, the team?s juniors are starting to play well at the perfect time.

Dawna Virdell continued to shine for the Rams in the Dixie Classic. Virdell was the team?s top finisher, tying for 12th with a three-round total of 228 (+12). Virdell fired a 76 in the first round and improved on that by five strokes in round two with a 71. Virdell struggled a bit on the final day and carded a score of 81. Her 12th place finish marks her fourth top 20 finish of the season, the most by a Ram this year. Virdell is also tied with Trisha Quick for most top 10 finishes this year with two.

Virdell has competed in every tournament this year and currently holds the lowest per round average score on the team at 76.76. Virdell is ranked 11th in the Mountain West heading into the championship and she is also ranked 212th in the nation according to the April 5 Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.

Juniors Lynette Duran and Trisha Quick both tied for 22nd in the Dixie Classic, at 232. Duran compiled rounds of 80, 73, and 79, respectively, and Quick finished with scores of 80, 81, and 71, respectively. Quick currently holds the team?s second lowest per round average on the team at 77.32.

Also playing well for the Rams in Utah was Kristen Campos. Campos, who was fresh off her tie for fifth in the Mountain View Collegiate continued to play solid golf, by tying for 29th with a three-round total of 238 in the Dixie Classic. Stephanie Linnell rounded out the field for the Rams, finishing tied for 53rd overall.
