Rams Seventh After First Day of Michigan Tournament

The Colorado State men?s golf team sits in a tie for seventh place after the first two rounds of the the University of Michigan Radrick Farms Intercollegiate played on Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Rams turned in a team score of 590, 14 strokes out of first place.
Senior John Hayes (Denver, Colo.) led the Rams firing a three-over 75 and an even-par 72 for a first-day total of 147, ranking in a tie for 20th individually for the tournament.
Juniors Nate Pettitt (Carroll, Iowa) and Kevin McAlpine (Blargowrie, Scotland) registered two-round totals of 148 and 149, respectively with Pettitt posting the Ram?s low round of the day with a two-under 70 in the second round.
Sophomore Aaron Weston (Lone Tree, Colo.) carded a 150 and Derrick Whiting (Alexandria, Minn.) rounded out the CSU scoring with a 152.
Georgia State?s Joel Sjohlm holds the top individual spot with a 138 while Purdue leads the team standings with a total of 576.
Play will resume with the final round on Sunday morning.
