Tennis finishes first day of ITA All-American Championships.

Two of Colorado State's Women's tennis players competed today at the Riviera/ ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

In doubles action, junior Emily Kirchem and sophomore Anne Andersen defeated Blair DiSesa and Alanna Rodgers of Rice in a tough 8-5 match. They play nationally-ranked No. 60 doubles team Amanda Fink and Luana Magnani of USC at noon PT on Sunday.

Andersen made it into the prequalifying rounds at the last minute but lost to Ana Jerman of Wake Forest 6-3, 6-2. Kirchem fell to Christian Thompson of Notre Dame in a 6-3, 6-2 match and finished her singles competition.

After they are done at the ITA All-American Championships, Kirchem, Andersen, and the rest of the Rams will compete in the Air Force Invitational October 7-9 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
