The Colorado State Women's tennis team finished the weekend in Pacific Palisades, Calif., for the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships. Emily Kirchem and Anne Andersen finished 1-1 in doubles play and 0-2 in singles throughout the weekend.
For the final doubles match today, Kirchem and Andersen played nationally-ranked doubles team No. 60 Amanda Fink and Luana Magnani of USC, but lost 8-1.
"Anne and Emily played really well," said Coach Jon Messick, "the match was a lot closer than what the score said.
"We played Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Rice, and USC. These are all heavy duty tennis players and we are not quite ready to play against them. We are ready to play and compete in our conference," Coach Messick commented about the weekend.
"We showed well with who we were up against."
The Rams travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., for the Air Force Invitational October 7-9.
