Dre Downs Named Honorable Mention All-American

Colorado State senior middle blocker Dre Downs was today named to the AVCA West All-Region Team for the second straight year, which earns her honorable mention All-American honors. Downs led the team with a .353 hitting percentage and ranked nationally in blocks, averaging 1.50 per game. Both rank second in the Mountain West Conference final statistics.
Downs was one of four Mountain West players named to the West Region Team as BYU's Lauren Evans and Lindsy Hartsock and Shelly Sommerfeldt from Utah were also named to the squad. Utah's Airial Salvo was also named the West Region Freshman of the Year.
Downs ended her career on Saturday after earning four straight bids to the NCAA Tournament, along with two Mountain West All-Conference certificates and three Mountain West regular season and two Mountain West Tournament titles.
