The Colorado State volleyball team won its fourth straight match to improve to 5-3 overall, defeating New Mexico State in three games, 33-31, 30-22, 30-19, while the Aggies fall to 5-1.

Colorado State was led by senior Tess Rogers with 19 kills, while senior outside hitter Casey Bauer had 12 kills and sophomore right-side hitter Tonya Mokelki chipped in 10 kills and hit a match-high .643. Rogers also led the match with three aces and junior libero Katherine Whitney added two. Senior middle blocker Dre Downs led the match with eight blocks, while freshman setter Ashley Fornstrom tallied a career-high seven blocks. Whitney also led the match with 14 digs.

"I'm very pleased," said head coach Tom Hilbert. "New Mexico State is a good volleyball team. Our team was solid tonight -- we didn't give up a lot of point runs and that's always going to be a key."

The Aggies were led by middle blocker Kim Oguh with nine kills, while Amber Simpson hit .438 to lead the team. Tanya Allen had two aces and 13 digs to lead the team and Oguh had four block assists.

The Rams and Aggies were tied 15 times in game one and there were five lead changes as the Rams pulled out the 33-31 victory on a huge kill by Rogers. The Rams led the entire second game and were tied four time and there were two lead changes in the third game.

Colorado State will face Florida A&M tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m. The Rattlers played at Wyoming this evening, defeating the Cowgirls in four games.
