Next on the Tee... The Rams will travel to Reno, Nevada for their second tournament of the season beginning on September 26th and ending on the 27th. The 29th Annual Wolf Pack Invitational will at be held at ArrowCreek golf course; a 6,937 yard, par 72. The field is composed of 18 teams including Air Force, Hawaii and UTEP. Two 18-hole rounds will take place on Tuesday the 27th with the final round scheduled for Wednesday the 28th. The Rams scheduled to compete in Reno are Zen Brown, Kevin McAlpine, Nate Pettitt, Aaron Weston and Derrick Whiting.
Dangerous Derrick... Derrick Whiting finished in 17th place at the Tucker Intercollegiate, the highest of any Ram Player. His first round of one under par, coupled with his last round of five under par guided him to a 217 for the tournament.
Senior Stroke... Seniors Kevin McAlpine and Nate Pettitt both recorded low scores for the Rams at the Tucker. McAlpine had a three-round 221 total led by a three under par final round 69. Pettitt started off the Tucker with a one under 71, and carded a 77 in his final two rounds giving him a 225 tournament total.
Ambitious Aaron... Aaron Weston carded a three-round total of 231 at the Tucker. His first two rounds were a 77s and added a 79 before his 75 in the final round. Beginning of Brown... Zen Brown began his collegiate career at Albuquerque, N.M. with a three-round 236 total.
Rams Recap... The Rams will be coming off of a 16th place finish at the Tucker Invitational when heading to Reno. At the Tucker the Rams had rounds of 293 and 313 before their even par 288 third round total. This earned the Rams a three-round 894 overall score. The Rams were in 19th place heading into the final round and gained three spots on the final day.
