The Ram Tennis team finished the BYU Invitational today with some strong performances.

Sophomore Emily Kirchem finished the day with two wins, both over Utah opponents. In the morning she defeated Cinthia Saucedo in a quick 6-3, 6-3 match and then overcame Liz Ferris 6-3, 7-6 (5). Freshman Courtney Akel lost to Utah's lone senior Allison Harser in a tough 1-6, 6-2, 6-0 match. Freshman Lauren Strasburger lost to Utah's Emily Kwok 6-2, 6-2.

"I was very pleased with how well we played at the tournament," Coach Jon Messick said. "It shows that we are moving up in the region when it is Colorado State and BYU in the final matches."

The Rams play in Pacific Palisades, California on October 2 and at the Air Force Invitational later that week.
