The Colorado State women's tennis team today posted a perfect 4-0 record in doubles action during the first day of the Air Force Invitational.

Senior standout Emily Kirchem and junior transfer Hilary Tyler paired in the top flight of doubles play, defeating Krystofik and Shelly of Northern Colorado 8-0.

In doubles flight two, Laura Neal and Lauren Strasburger paired to beat Kiser and Knight of the Air Force Academy, 8-3.

The third doubles flight saw freshman Kirsten Stople and sophomore Greer Satherlie win 8-4 over Zafir and Toulch of Memphis, while in the fourth flight sophomore Sarah Seltsam and freshman Katie Brown defeated Brown and Senko of Wyoming 8-6.

"We're very pleased with the way we played today," said head coach Jon Messick. "It's something you don't expect, you hope for, but you don't expect it. We know, though, that things will get a lot tougher tomorrow."

Tomorrow, the Rams continue action in the doubles flights, as well as playing two rounds of singles action. Kirchem will play in the top flight, while Strasburger is in flight two, Neal is in flight three, Tyler will play in the fourth flight, Stople is in flight five, Satherlie is in the sixth flight, Seltsam is in flight seven, Brown is in flight eight and freshman Manar Al-Jazzaf will play in flight nine. Action is scheduled to begin with doubles at 9:00 a.m.
