Next on the Tee...
The Colorado State Men's Golf team will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete in the District 7 Shoot-Out, Oct. 9-10. The tournament, hosted by the University of Hawaii, will take place at the Angel Park Golf Course - Mountain Course, a par-71, 6,722-yard course. Fifteen teams will compete in the tournament, including four Mountain West teams: Colorado State, San Diego State, Wyoming, and Utah. The 54-hole tournament will begin with 36 holes on Monday, and the final 18 holes on Tuesday. The Ram golfers that will compete in the tournament are Zen Brown, Bryce Hanstad, Dustin Morris, Aaron Weston and Derrick Whiting.

Rams Recap...
Colorado State earned their third-straight top-ten finish at the Wolf Pack Classic. The Rams carded rounds of 287, 286 and 282 for a three-round 855 team total. This led the Rams to a third place finish. The Rams have carded two top five finishes in three tournaments this year. Last year, the Rams carded four top fives finishes in twelve tournaments. Two of the top-fives last year were fifth place finishes. The Rams earned second place at the first tournament of the season, the Miranda Invitational Sept. 9-10 after carding rounds of 286-280-288. The second round 280 is their season-low team single round score. The second-place finish they earned on Sept. 9-10 is their highest finish since the Rice Intercollegiate, Feb. 6-7, 2006.



Green, Gold & Brown...
Sophomore Zen Brown earned his third consecutive top-ten finish at the Wolf Pack Classic. Brown recorded three-straight sub-par rounds (67-70-71) to earn a 208 three-round total, and a second place finish. Brown was three strokes away from individual champion Dustim Pimm of Utah. Pimm carded a three-round 205. In contrast, Brown earned three top-20 finishes in the entire 2005-06 regular season. The first-round 67 is Brown's lowest single round score this season. The second place finish is Brown's highest finish of his career. Brown achieved a tie for fourth place at the Falcon Invitational Sept. 9-10. There, he carded rounds of 74-68-69 earning him a 211 three-round total and a tie with teammate Dustin Morris. Brown has carded five sub-par rounds this year. As of Oct. 6, 2006, Brown is in fourth place in the Mountain West Conference in terms of stroke average. He has led the team since the first tournament of the season, and holds a 70.78 stroke average.



Best Weston...
Senior Aaron Weston had a career performance at the Wolf Pack Classic. Weston earned the highest finish of his career by earning a tie for sixth place. He earned the tie after posting rounds of 70-72-69. This led Weston to his career low three-round tournament total, 211. Weston beat out his previous career high finish, a tie for 22nd. He earned a tie for 22nd at the Ron Moore Invite, March 20-21, 2006. There, he recorded rounds of 71-69-74 for a 214 three-round total. The 214 three-round total was his previous career low tournament total.



Marvelous Morris...
Dustin Morris missed a top-20 finish by one stroke at the Wolf Pack Classic. Morris tied for 26th after posting rounds of 77-73-67. This led him to a 217 three-round total. The final round 67 is his career low single round. In his first collegiate tournament, the Miranda Invitational Sept. 9-10, Dustin Morris carded rounds of 72-70-69 to earn him a 211 three-round total and a tie for fourth place. Morris is currently second on the team in terms of stroke average, and holds a 72.89.



Wolf Pack Classic...
Riley Arp competed as an individual in the Wolf Pack Classic. Arp recorded rounds of 73-77-70 to earn him a 220 three-round total and a tie for 41st. Derrick Whiting posted rounds of 77-71-75 which led him to a three-round 223 total, and a tie for 61st. Whiting matched his season low single round score, 71, in the second round of the tournament. Herve Gevers tied for 66th after posting rounds of 73-73-78=224.
