Colorado State University football coach Sonny Lubick figures smaller might be better this time of year.

Lubick put his team through a two-hour workout Monday, as the team prepares for its final home game of the season Saturday against TCU.

The Rams' roster is smaller this week - by about 20 players. With classes on the CSU campus recessed the entire week due to the Thanksgiving holiday, Lubick allowed more than 20 players who would not be suited for this week's game to return hhome.

"We got a lot of work done," Lubick said following the workout. "The spirts of the players were good, they practiced hard."

TCU brings an 8-2 record into the game, and the Horned Frogs have won five in a row after suffering back-to-back defeats at the hands of BYU and Utah.

"They are a solid, balanced football team," Lubick said. "Offensively, they have backs that make you miss. Their quarterback (Jeff Ballard) is solid, and their offensive line has always impressed me."

So how does Lubick figure to combat TCU's challenges?

"I told the players to go out and enjoy it. Work hard, have a good time, and enjoy it."

The Rams return to the practice field Tuesday at noon to continue preparations. Colorado State will practice at 11 a.m. Wednesday, then hold a brief workout Thanksgiving Day morning.

Kickoff time for Saturday's game is 5 p.m. MDT. CSU is offering several ticket promotions for the game, including $1 youth tickets (ages 3-17), and $10 general admission tickets.
