CSU Player Quotes

CSU Quarterback Billy Farris

What was going through your mind when they called your number to go in?

"I was preparing all week and just waiting for my chance to show the coaches what I can do. It helped playing a little last week at Utah so I wasn't as nervous."

On the executing the offense...

"I have a pretty good grasp of the offense and I thought I played pretty good for the most part. I missed a couple of reads that I should of made."

On playing and practicing next week...

"I'm expecting to get more reps next week and hopefully play some as well"

CSU Wide Receiver Dustin Osborn

On playing his final home game and his CSU career...

"Being a senior and losing is a tough way to go out. I'm sad we lost and our record is not what we had hoped it would be. I had a great time in my career and I can't thank coach Lubick enough for giving me the opportunity to play division 1 football."

On his touchdown catch...

"I didn't hear the play call in the huddle so I asked Johnny (Walker) and he said it was our play. Their (TCU's) safeties bit on the run so I put my finger up and Johnny (Walker) threw a great ball."

CSU Quarterback Caleb Hanie

On the play he was injured on...

"It was a pretty bad hit. I got around one guy, but the other guy got me. He put his helmet in my chest and I got the wind knocked out of me."

On the team's final game...

"We need to get a win. Losing shakes your confidence and you start to question your abilities as a player. We just need to stay positive and try to win one for our seniors. We're looking at next week as the first game of next year."

CSU Offensive Lineman Clint Oldenburg

On his final home game...

"It's tough coming out and losing your last home game."

On the offenses first drive...

"The first drive we were able to match their intensity but then it all stopped after that and they just out played us."

TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson

This is your sixth win in a row, talk a little bit about that. We've been doing well. We've been stripping the football and been on a roll. Our lines have grown up. We have senior day next week, but we have a lot of good young players. I've talked to the guys about playing like we are still a ranked team ever since the loss against Utah.

What about Aaron Brown's performance? Aaron Brown has been that guy. He has matured a lot mentally. He's one of those good young guys that we have.

How did you prepare for this game? We cut practice down a lot this past week. We knew that CSU had two weeks to prepare, but we took a chance and it paid off.

What did you do as far as practice? We didn't do a whole lot. After Tuesday we didn't really run a lot of drills, practiced lasted less than an hour and a half.

How do you think your team played overall? I think we played well except when we had our second and third string guys in.

Do you think this was a complete game? For a road game it was.

What are you thinking as far as a bowl game? Our main concern is beating Air Force. We've never been to a bad bowl so we'll see. Both BYU and TCU are playing well right now.

It seems you are playing better, do you feel it's the best you've played all year? Yeah, it is. Our defense is getting after different people and we're doing well.

Did you know about the BYU game before the start of this game? Yeah we did. We knew it was third and ten and we all voted who Beck was going to throw to.

You face Air Force next week, how do you prepare for that? Anytime you play against a triple option it takes a lot of preparation. We know we are going to get their A game.

TCU QB Jeff Ballard

This your second 600 yard game, how is that for you? We are executing well, putting together long drives and playing well in the second half to get it done.

It seems like when you needed 10 you were able to get it done, was it easy? I don't know if I would say it was easy because they have really good players but things did fall our way and we did end up with good yardage.

What about Aaron Brown? Aaron is explosive. He's got the speed, he's got the moves, he's got it all.

Would you say he is your go to guy? We do want the ball in his hands.

TCU Running Back Aaron Brown You had a 100 yard game, how was that? I just kind of felt like I owed it to the seniors.

Has it been hard after last year and then coming back after the Baylor game? Well, I am not the only player; it's been a team effort. We gotta get the W's. 100 yards doesn't mean anything if you don't win. I just know I have to play B if we want to win.

The surface seemed fast, was that true? Yeah, it was. I liked the surface and like the field.

Is there any pressure for you to produce 100-yard games? I don't know if it is expected of me, I don't go looking for them. There is too much talent on this team to just have one person to depend on.

How did you feel on returning kicks? I was a little hesitant but I believed in our blockers and got it done.
