"The thing we want to hold on to for the rest of the season is the way they make their teammates better and the way they create for their teammates. 23 assists on 30 field goals is probably one of the most telling stats about this team's chemistry."
"(The team's) chemistry was apparently from the very first time we ate lunch together. It is something that has to continue to make us a little better than we are on paper."
"Our aggressive mentality offensively is coming to us a little quicker than our aggressive mentality defensively. And that's something that I need to look at as a head coach and make sure that it is transferring to both ends of the court."
"The first half Western State had 13 offensive boards, that is enough for three exhibition games, we held them to three in the second half, and that is better to me."
"You say as coach that the most important six-inches in rebounding are the ones between your ears. God bless our team, the were so nervous for today and by the second half they were saying `alright that was ridiculous, lets go now' and you felt that mentality coming."
"One thing I thought was really important out of today is that we struggled. I thought it was really important that we struggled. The journey for these upperclassmen has not been easy."

On personal improvement: "I worked hard this summer, we had a new trainer, I got a lot stronger and a lot better at moving around."
New offense: "There is definitely a lot more freedom in this offense. I can set whatever screens I want and I can post up whenever I want."
On chemistry: We actually have really great chemistry, all our freshman really look up to us and really respond to our leadership. I think everything has worked out really well."
On being a senior: "I think I am ready for it. The strangest thing for me is how fast everything is going now. It's crazy that this is our first game."
