Ram Tennis falls to No. 43 Iowa
The Colorado State women's tennis team fell to No. 43 Iowa in a 6-1 match.
Emily Kirchem grabbed the Rams' lone point by defeating No. 21 Meg Racette 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. In doubles play, Kirchem and Anne Andersen fell to Racette and Jacqueline Lee, 8-5. Andersen was defeated by Hillary Mintz 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Greer Satherlie lost to Krissy Dowlin 6-2, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.
"We got beat by a better team. As a team they out played us," said Coach Jon Messick.
"Emily (Kirchem) dominated the No. 21 player in the country; we can use that as an example to pick the team up."
The Rams continue home play on Sunday, February 5 at noon at Miramont Sport Center.
