San Bernardino, Calif. - The Colorado State water polo team defeated Notre Dame 11-4 and lost a 14-13 overtime game to Wagner in the final day of the Coyote Classic in San Bernardino, Calif., Sunday afternoon.

The Rams (12-8) jumped out to a 9-1 halftime lead over the Fighting Irish before holding off Notre Dame 11-4. Annie Quinn posted four goals to lead the Ram offense while Laurien White posted a solid all-around performance with two goals, seven steals and three assists. Marisa Fernandez and Emily Chambers each had two goals while Brittany McGinley had one. Andrea Lugo had four saves in goal for CSU in the game.

In the nightcap, CSU suffered a 14-13 overtime setback to Wagner, a team that competed in the eight-team NCAA Championship field in 2005. The game went back and forth until CSU took a two-goal lead with 1:34 to play in regulation. The Rams then had a double kick out giving Wagner a 6-4 advantage which they used to send the game to and extra six-minute period where the Seahawks would claim the 14-13 win.

CSU's Quinn continued her scoring streak to 15 games with five goals against Wagner. She finished the Coyote Classic with 17 goals in four games. Marisa Fernandez had four goals in the game while Chambers had two and White and Monica Schuh each had one. Holly Stanfill had four saves for the Rams defensively.

"We played the way we are capable of playing today", said head coach John Mattos. "We showed that we could play with some of the nation's best teams."

CSU will travel to Orange, Calif. to face Chapman on Tuesday night before facing nationally-ranked UC San Diego on Thursday.
