The Colorado State women's tennis team began the week in Las Vegas on the right foot with a 7-0 win over Southern Utah. The Rams are now 6-5 in dual play this season.

No. 91 Emily Kirchem and Anne Andersen began the day with an 8-0 doubles win over Liliana Cortes and Lelia Kanuha at No. 1. Carla Pallares and Lauren Strasburger won at No. 2 doubles by defeating Lisseth Hoyos and Casie Brooks, 8-1. Southern Utah had no No. 3 doubles team.

The Rams carried the momentum of the doubles play into the singles play and won at all singles positions. Kirchem beat Liliana Cortes at No. 1, 6-3, 6-1, while Andersen overpowered Kanuha at No. 2, 6-2, 6-0. Strasburger won at No. 3 and beat Veronica Cortes, 6-1, 6-1. Pallares had her third win in a row by defeating Hoyos at No. 4, 6-0, 6-1. Jasmin Singh won at No. 5 by beating Brooks, 6-0, 6-0. Southern Utah had no player for No. 6 singles.

The Rams continue play in Las Vegas tomorrow when they take on Valparaiso at 10:00 a.m. PT and Idaho State at 3:00 p.m. PT.
