Water Polo Falls Twice at LMU Invitational

Los Angeles, Calif. - The Colorado State water polo team suffered their third and fourth consecutive losses in the second day of the Loyola Marymount Invitational in Los Angeles Saturday. CSU lost a 5-4 decision to Redlands before falling to No. 4-ranked Loyola Marymount 15-1.
CSU sophomore Annie Quinn scored first for the Rams versus Redlands putting the Rams on top 1-0 after one frame before taking a 2-2 tie into halftime. CSU's Laurien White then put CSU on top, 3-2, with 5:47 to play in the third before Redlands scored three unanswered goals in the next seven minutes to take a 5-3 lead. Monica Schuh scored for Colorado State with 1:58 to play but that would end the scoring for CSU with the score 5-4.
Quinn, White, Schuh and Emily McCullough all scored for CSU in the game. Goalkeeper Holly Stanfill had five saves in the contest as well.
In the final game of the day, CSU's Annie Quinn tied the score at 1-1 with 5:12 left in the first against Loyola Marymount but the Lion's defense would prove to be stiffling as LMU went on to with the game 15-1.
CSU falls to 14-16 on the season and will play again next weekend in the UC Davis Tournament in Davis, Calif.
