Event-by-Event Results

Colorado State sophomore Emily Pearson leads the Glenn Morris Heptathlon after the first day of competition with 3,036 points, while junior Katie Lloyd sits in second with 2,995 points. Rich Mattison from Northern Colorado leads the men's decathlon with 3,285 points, while Beau Wendling of Chadron State is second with 2,816 points.

Pearson and Lloyd both started the day with a time of 14.54 in the 100 meter hurdles, a personal best time for Pearson. She then cleared a personal best 5-3 in the high jump and threw 35-7.25 in the shot put before closing the competition with a 25.83 in the 200 meters.

Lloyd cleared a competition-best 5-5.25 in the high jump, then threw 35-6 in the shot put and ended the day with a 27.11 in the 200 meters.

Sophomore Tonya Cure currently sits in fourth place with 2,691 points. She posted a career-best 15.38 in the 100 hurdles, cleared 5-1.75 in the high jump, threw 30-2.25 in the shot and ran a 26.89 in the 200.

The fourth Ram in the competition, sophomore Ashleigh Morton is in sixth with 2,645 points. She ran a personal best time of 15.96 in the 100 hurdles, cleared 4-11.5 in the high jump, threw a personal best 37-3.75 to win the shot put and ran a 27.45 in the 200 meters to finish the day.

Competition in the Glenn Morris Multis concludes tomorrow. The decathlon begins at 10:30 with the 110 meter hurdles, while the heptathlon is scheduled to begin at 11:00 with the long jump.
