Quinn, White Placed on ACWPC All-Academic Team

Fort Collins, Colo. - Colorado State water polo standouts Annie Quinn and Laurien White were selected to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-Academic Team. This marks the first time in school history that a CSU player has been placed on the ACWPC All-Academic Team.

Quinn, a sophomore from Salt Lake City, Utah, has led CSU in goals scored in each of her first two years with the Rams including a school-record 72 goals in 2006, a mark that ranked 13th in the nation. In 36 games played, Quinn also registered 27 assists and 43 steals on the year, ranking in the top three on the team in each category.

With a cumulative grade-point average of 3.78 majoring in speech communication, Quinn holds the 20th-best overall GPA among all collegiate water polo players in the nation.

White, a junior from Parker, Colo., ranked second on the team and 38th in the nation with 52 goals scored including a school-record tying five-goal game versus Colorado College. White was third on the team with 20 assists and also tallied 39 steals on the year. She held a 3.34 GPA with a major in business management.

As a team, Colorado State ranked 28th in the nation with an overall GPA of 2.79.

CSU's water polo team completed its second varsity season with a 17-21 overall record and a ninth-place finish in the Western Water Polo Association Championships. --
